This July London will be swathed in a whirl of Arab awesomeness, as Shubbak‘s festival of contemporary art and culture from the region unfolds:

Comprising over 70 events across the city, it will bring together the beauty and creativity of the region, with a nod to Tahrir and the revolutions taking place.

Participants include author Nawal el-Saadawi, photographer Rania Matar, singers Zeid Hamdan, Tamer Abu Ghazaleh and Myriam Saleh, Libyan author Hisham Matar, Moroccan writer and politician Mohammed Achaari, Saudi author Raaja Alem, the Lebanese writer Hassan Daoud and so many more besides.

Running from 4-24 July it will also comprise Arab artists, filmmakers, musicians, choreographers and architects from Algeria, Bahrain, Canada, Egypt, India, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, KSA, Spain, Sudan, Sweden, Tunisia, Turkey, the UAE and USA.
