This week, courtesy of Muhyi al-Din Ibn ‘Arabi (1165-1240):

A man madly in love with his beloved went to knock at her door.

Through the closed door, she asked:’Who is there?’

He answered:’It’s me!’

She said: ‘There is no room for both you and me in the same house.’

Upon hearing this, the man left and went to the desert where he spent his time in meditation.

Some years later, he came back and knocked at her door again.

The voice of his beloved asked: ‘Who is there?’

He answered: ‘It is yourself!’

And the door opened.

Think about it: it’s truly beautiful.
