… Look no further than the second circle in Amman, according to the New York Times.
I was always under the impression that the best shawarma could be found in Lebanon (I intend to test this theory extensively in April), but Amman’s is pretty darn good.

And it’s always the tiniest most inconspicuous stalls that sell the best: for almost one month I could eat nothing but falafel and hummus from a tiny corner stall in Jabal Hussein.
The juxtaposition of crispy shell and soft, moist centre mixed with the creamy hummus still stirs my food-lust.
Oh, to return!
But that would also require a return to elasticated waists, so perhaps short visits are best, given my utter lack of will-power.
