Try though I might to refrain from blogging, when I stumble across gems like this, I simply must share:
Plus, it is work – I will be incorporating the clip into the lecture to demonstrate the work of the Christian Peacemaker Teams in the region.
During my stay in Jordan I was fortunate enough to meet CPT members and they are, as this gentleman testifies, quite a remarkable bunch.
Their ethos of providing witness is so utterly honourable that I only wish there were more.
Quite inspirational.

How much peace does providing witness bring about?
Until both sides submit to allowing the other side to exist, there can be no peace. Not in Isreal, not on the West Bank, not in Gaza, not anywhere. To think otherwise is naive.
This is a perfect example of what happens when one person decides to make a difference. He has made a difference for dozens, or perhaps even hundreds, and it does matter.
Unfortunately, all foreign Christians in the region are suspected of being Zionists and that tired narrative closes the ears of those who need to hear there is another side of the story.
We are called to live out Christ’s commands to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, encourage the down-trodden, visit the prisoner. No ulterior motive, just for the sake of serving.
Until both sides submit…this man and the hundreds like him in this region are quietly living out Christ’s commands without a big organization or lots of press. They do make a difference.
Yes! This is exactly what I am discussing in my lecture: that not all evangelical organizations are Christian Zionist in nature.
They are often humanitarian in basis and follow the tenet ‘If one member suffers all suffer with it. If one member is honoured all rejoice together with it.’
You cannot argue with that.
