Caledoniyya

Quickly, bring me a beaker of wine, so that I may wet my mind and say something clever.

This Is Music

Sunday, office-bound and the wind has been howling like a banshee since the early hours of the morning.

Which is roughly the same time I listened enraptured to the full version of Kashmir by the mighty Led Zeppelin, albeit a version by Robert Plant and the equally awesome Tinariwen.

So far I have lucked out of finding that exact clip, but for those with patience and time it can be found on Bob Harris’ Tinariwen special, here.

Tinariwen are beyond spectacular: whether it is the combination of all things Saharawi and electrical guitar or the mere awesomeness of their music, they are formidable and truly innovative.

Forget Glastonbury; what I would not give attend the Festival in the Desert

Alas, as yet it is not to be; but thanks to the digital age in which we live, I can rejoice in the original Kashmir:

Simply. Amazing.
