From an e-mail circulated by the University Jewish Society, an Israeli-themed evening resplendent with ‘traditional Israeli cuisine’:
Lamb and chicken kebabs (vegetable kebabs for vegetarians) served with lentil rice, Israeli salad, humous, tahina and pitta bread.
All that is missing is the Israeli falafel, the Israeli knafa and the Israeli ‘Jerusalem’ dresses.

Actually, hummus is a traditionally Arabic dish too, if not more so. Even the word is a translation of an Arabic word. So anyone copyrights it, the Arabs definitely need to be there first.
Too right. And hummus is indeed Middle Eastern, though the Greek coveting is equally interesting…
