I loved Buffy.
I loved Twilight.
Bring the two together and you produce a pricelessly hilarious take on female gender roles on the layline of the 20/21st century.
Fabulous.

Oh, Layla, PRICEless! I take guilty pleasure that you are a Twilight fan too.
Isn’t it? I just love it. It highlights how we kind of peaked in the late 90s with powerful female characters and then tapered off in recent years.
Twilight is indeed a guilty pleasure, though I must confess snickering for most of the movie. I mean, come on, the guy practically has a PhD in broodery
Indeed, Bella drove me nuts as the antithesis of the empowered woman. Made me want to shake her, and I’m not even a very good feminist.
I haven’t seen the movie yet, it came out in Jordan at Christmas and that just seemed a little too weird to combine. But that actor, seriously, can you imagine practicing those faces in the mirror? I bet it took him a solid week before avoiding cracking up every time he lowered and glowered that way. PhD in Broodery, now that is a concept and he does qualify.
Haha! But even watching Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire earlier this week, I was struck by how vampirical he appeared even then.
On another note, the last comment brought the number to 666. I cannot conceive of a more appropriate post on which to reach that figure!
