Today’s PhotoHunt cuts quite a forlorn figure, as Elsie languishes the rest of her days in Topsham marina, Devon:

There’s something slightly sad about retired boats; cast aground or left bobbing nonchalantly, they resemble the old beach donkeys, salty and wizened reminders of good times at and by the sea.

Still, Elsie evokes a degree of nostalgia; while the shiny speed-demon boats proliferate our harbours, an old-school charm pervades the wooden and metal contraptions.

Or perhaps I am just a sucker for antiquities.
