Moving towards her photography collection I was awe-struck anew, for Momeni takes the concept of the image to a whole new level.
With subjects that already possess unparalleled character, beauty, and expression, Momeni effectively generates motion within her stationary images, so that pieces such as ‘You Are Not Alone’ and ‘Mah Afarid’ come to life with a mournful, yet evocative essence.

According to Syma Sayyah, of Payvand Iran News, the exhibition – also titled ‘You Are Not Alone’ – demonstrates the skillful combination of Momeni’s intellect and sorrow through her images of women:
What I found interesting about her works is that she combines the exploration of her art and her technical photo mastery on one hand and a new presentation of modern Iranian women – her exhibition theme – on the other. She titled the exhibition “You Are Not Alone!” This brings a sense of sisterhood and allows many to share that hidden fear of being alone and gives a gentle sense of warmth and togetherness. When I asked her why she chose this title she told me that modern woman is so lonely as she lives and works, even though she has a modern life and her inner self is fine. “I want to try to bring out the inner side of women, since there are plenty of choices to do just the face!” [Source]
Born in 1976 in Tehran, Momeni obtained a B.A in Photography from Azad University, Tehran, in 2000, before becoming a Member of Canadian Association for Photographic Art (CAPA).

Since then, she has rapidly risen through the ranks of Iranian photography and art to become one of Iran’s most promising young artist photographers.

Her exhibitions to date have encompassed Iran, Italy, and Sweden, and it can only be hoped that her sorrowful, yet profound, images will be exhibited on a broader level in the near future.

In that third shot, the eyes are incredibly soulful. Love the post.
Thanks Mike – I believe the final picture is of the artist/photographer herself. Given the expressive eyes, it would be highly poetic if it is.
