Simply, I find Queen Rania awesome.
Outlandishly beautiful, smart, and quite the activist, she is singularly inspirational in her own, unique way.
Bearing in mind that vast preponderance of British royals excel only in the sports of falling out of Boujis, modelling the stars’n'stripes in tanks, and breeding corgis, even the tame bicycle-riding antics of the Danish monarchy set our pulses racing with exhilaration.
But seriously, Rania’s latest initiative – an appeal on YouTube for global dialogue to dismantle stereotypes of Muslims and the Arab world – is another savvy move.
Accordingly, the Jordanian Queen has vowed to break down preconceptions and wants people to “know the real Arab world … unedited, unscripted and unfiltered.”
Through her YouTube page viewers are invited to give their opinions of the Middle East and talk about stereotyped images that they may have of Arabs and Muslims.
Whether the scheme will blast misconceptions, or prove another stomping ground for Zionists, remains to be seen.
Nevertheless, all endeavours towards enhancing awareness of the profoundly beautiful culture of the Middle East are ones worthy of applause.
